In our first Little Artist and Me, we will have fun exploring and learning about nature’s littlest friends - bugs!  Children and their grownup will get to create with paint, drawing, and 3D materials while we get creative, get messy, and make art memories together.

This week is a celebration of American artists. Students will draw, paint, collage, and build in the manner of Edward Hopper, Jasper Johns, Charles Demuth, and Thomas  Jefferson (our 3rd President AND an architect).

Join us for our character development and design camp where students will learn the ins-and-outs of imagining, designing, and rendering their own inventive characters.  Students will learn hand drawing methods using pens, markers, colored pencils, and other materials popular with hand-to-paper character design.

Using art as a medium, students will learn about motion & energy, reaction & change, water & air, and nature & earth.

In this camp, students will create their own hand-made patches! These water proof, no sew patches will be made using embroidery floss, fabrics, and more.  Students will design and construct multiple fashion patches to decorate whatever their heart desires!

Step back in time and explore the longest era in art history with us!  Byzantine art explored a broad range and variety of art forms.  Similarly, students will get to create in mosaic, metal, painting, and drawing while we explore art from 330 to 1453.

Students will make their mark by learning and practicing many printmaking processes, such as monoprinting, screenprinting, solar prints, and collagraphs.

Students will learn about the 6 major gods and goddesses in Greek mythology, and how the Olympic Games began. They will have fun with pencil, acrylic, and watercolor creating ideas of what their own attributes would be.

Students will get a full on 3D art experience in our “All Out 3D” camp.  Working with found objects, paper, and mixed media, students will bring to life emotions and elements in new and exciting ways.

Roar into summer with us in our Dinosaur camp! Students will get to create their favorite dinosaurs in a variety of mediums from watercolor and acrylic paints to mixed media while we dive into the roar-ific world of dinosaurs!

Need to recycle those old t-shirts? Look no further! During this week, campers will turn those old t-shirts into something new they can use for years to come. Learning about pattern creation and hand weaving techniques, students will be able to create one of a kind pieces.

During this week, campers will become the star designer of their very own fashion empire! They will learn how to draw and style fashion croquis.  Using various materials, campers will draw, collage and embellish their designs to create their own collection of outfits.

Let’s get our creativity “In Motion” in this Little Artist and Me camp.  Student will get to think about objects in motion and get some objects in motion in this 2 day camp.  We will get to paint, draw, and work with mixed media while we get messy, get creative, and make fun art memories together.

Calling all art and animal lovers, this one is for you!  In our Talk to the Animals camp, we will spend the first day at Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge drawing animals from life.  For day two, three, and four, we will get creative in The Art Studio where we will be drawing, painting, and printmaking the fun furry and feathered friends we met at Cedar Run.

*Please note, all children will need a ride to and from Cedar Run the first day.  We will have two teachers there to supervise, you do not need to stay.  Ticket cost for your child is covered in the cost of the camp.  Any additional tickets for you or additional children are not included.

Students will learn about set development and story telling through visual imagery as they create their own model box and mood board inspired by a reinvention of their favorite movie.  Let’s reimagine the classics in our Design camp!
