Are you a young architect, engineer, or designer in the making?  This camp is for you!  In this camp students will have the opportunity to dream, design, and build your own scale model castle.  Natural elements, found right outside The Art Studio and Sculpey people will complete their design. Students will leave with a creation fit for royalty!

Let’s get started on the basics of interior design. This camp will allow you to learn the process, from researching inspiration, sketching, picking out paint samples, creating a perspective drawing of a room, and creating a final mood board.  You will leave with a drawing of the bedroom of your dreams. Whether you want to learn about interior design or put your creative skills to the test, this camp will allow you to use your imagination and learn the interior design basics!

We look at the clouds all the time.  Imagine what it would be like to be in the clouds.  After learning about the different kinds of clouds, students will draw them and the imaginary world that could be inside of them.  They will choose their favorite and make a painting.

Lots can be learned from our feathered friends like their sense of direction, how they add beauty to the world, and demonstrate true courage.  Students will use their ideas in drawing, painting with collage, and weaving a vessel.

The class will be catered to the individual students needs which will change from person to person and will consist of 3 two hour classes.

You can choose to; establish a website, photograph your artwork, develop a brand, design a business card, create artwork to fill in gaps in portfolio, understand how to enter art shows, create an art instagram account, and/or get a brief understanding of marketing yourself.

Artist Edgar Degas studied movement of dancers and racehorses and then tried to show that movement in his paintings.  Students will work with a variety of mediums in drawing and painting to create the same movement in figures and animals.

A handmade card fills the heart because it is made with love.  Students will try techniques in printmaking, drawing, and painting to make pop-up, accordion, and bi-fold notes that they will delight in giving.

A little perspective can make a big impact.  Students will look at how Georgia O’Keeffe’s flowers, which in real life are small, are painted larger than life. Finding their own little things in nature, students will draw and paint their observations..

Kids’ talent will make an “impression” in the pieces they create.  Students will emboss on paper and foil, layer with wood, and collage in painting.

Let’s bring your dream castle into a reality with our Castle Building Camp.  In this camp students will have the opportunity to dream, design, and build their own scale model castle and learn to design architectural structures.  Students will build the castle off a ground plan and take a short walk outside for the best natural elements to complete their castle landscape.  Students will leave here with skills to take on their next design challenge!

Learn the basics of what it takes to bring your vision from a sketch, to a perspective drawing, and finally, scale model.  This camp is great for high school students who want to try out their design skills in architecture.  Students will leave this course with a better understanding for design and will have a presentation board and model for their portfolio.

Kids will explore line, shape, and color while having fun splattering, dripping, blowing, and even throwing paint.  Using their imaginations, they will add drawings to the paintings.

In perspective it all begins at the vanishing point.  Students will learn 1-pt and 2-pt perspective by drawing an interior, an exterior, and a surreal space.  They will add ink and paint to their favorite pieces.

Students will learn how color, shape, and line can be used to express feelings.  Kids will have fun working in a variety of mediums.
