winter class schedule

We offer after school classes for kindergarten through high school and speciality classes such as Fashion: Fiber Manipulation and Artist Portfolio & Branding.  In addition we offer, home school, private classes, and adult classes with varying hours through the week. 

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

TUESDAY or

Our youngest students will be getting inspiration from children's books throughout the year.  They will have fun drawing, painting, and working in three dimensions.

3rd Grade - 5th Grade

Students will think about art and creativity to develop a positive outlook towards their art, themselves, and each other. By using multi media, we will think about small ways to bring positivity and light to cultivate creativity and dream deeper.

6th Grade - 8th Grade

Each session, students will look to a master artist to develop technically based skills through painting, drawing, and working three dimensionally. Students will transition from closely replicated works to their own creative interpretations.

High School: 9th Grade - 12th Grade

Students will consider their own artist aesthetic and interests to create an independent series in the media of their choosing. Through individualized guidance and class critiques in a collaborative environment, students will see personal and artistic growth.

In addition to their own series, students will be the first class to begin adding Journals into our Creative Collection, a collection of student sketchbooks.

Most materials provided (large scale canvas and papers not included). At this time, we do not use traditional oil based paints at The Studio.

Home School: 7th Grade - 12th Grade

THURSDAY

2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Session III begins week or 1/10 

Each session, students will look to a master artist to develop technically based skills through painting, drawing, and working three dimensionally. Students will begin by closely replicating the works of these historic masters.  By learning both about the artist, movement, and themselves they will transition to their own creative interpretations.

COST - $90.00

Private Class

Class date and time based on availability. Please "inquire" to arrange a class time.

All ages.

 

4 week session, 1 hour classes

Each session will be based on your individual interests and requests.  We will work with you one-on-one to strengthen your artistic skill set through the use of drawing, painting, and working three dimensionally.  

 

You tell us what you are looking for and we will arrange the rest.

Fashion Design: Fiber Manipulation

6th - 12th grade

THURSDAY 

4:00 pm - 5:15pm

Session III begins week or 1/10 

For this fashion design class, students will explore different techniques to alter fabrics through fiber manipulation based on a color story.  As we continue to move through the year, fiber will be the thread that connects the different techniques we will build upon.

 

In session I, students will learn how different cotton rich fabrics are effected by bleach and color dye through a series of dying techniques that will cumulate in a variety of fiber and fashion based projects. 

 

This class will give you the tools you need to master fabric on your own independent fashion journey.

Artist Portfolio & Branding

9th - 12th grade

WEDNESDAY

In our Artist Portfolio and Branding class, we will help you create a digital portfolio that can serve you for college applications and freelance work.  

We will help you to build a website, create a brand, business cards, artist statement, photograph your work, artist instagrams or other social media platforms. 

 

If you have gaps in your portfolio, please sign up for our 9th-12th grade regular high school class.  We can help you to create physical artwork in class such as; sculpture, portraiture, figure drawing, landscapes, or abstract work. 

Please note; a personal laptop is required for this class.

Adult Class: Introduction to Painting

THURSDAY

7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

 

4 week sessions

Session II begins week of 10/25

 

Session III begins week or 1/10 

In our Introduction to Painting class, students will gain experience in watercolor, gouache, and acrylic painting.  By learning basic drawing techniques, students will develop imaginative and creative compositions.

Minimum of 4 students, maximum of 8.

COST - $85.00

 

workshops

Throughout the year we will be offering seasonal workshops with art projects that will allow us to explore, create, and get imaginative about the new season.  

 

The workshops are geared for our 2nd through 12th grade students and will feature 2 - 3 new projects centered around the season.  The in-person workshops will be between 1 to 2 hours in length. 

When signing up, please inquire about the date and time you wish to sign up for.

Our next workshop will be in October 2021.  Sign ups and further information to follow end of September.
